Entering A Custom Bar Mirror Dream

I headed down the extended hallway, moving over the green shag carpet I cherished so much. Approaching the lower level bar I looked at myself momentarily in the different personalized bar mirrors . I saw the term "The fun never ends" etched into the bottom of the mirror. Is it always a party? How long can the celebration go on? The party last night was terrific. Friends, a nice meal and a glass of wine made it a special night - perhaps more than just one glass of wine.

Checking out the image of my weary eyes reflected in the personalized bar mirror , I changed my mind about having a gin and tonic after all. Tired, I settled onto the sofa and powered on the television. I found something soothing to watch, hoping it would send me calmly off to dreamland. I must have nodded off since I started to dream. I started to dream shortly. The anchor of the home improvement TV show was in my house with me, parading around and pointing out the inaccuracies. He started to guide me around my own home, mentioning the things he liked and what needed to be replaced. "This roof," he announced, "is unsafe." Holmes snags portions of topside roof covering pieces and throws them my way. He moved on to next room, leading me around like I didn't dwell there. "This is good," he says, and flashes the renowned Mike Holme's smile, " and so is the bar." David Bromstad, winner of season 1 Design Star and anchor of Color Splash: Miami, all of a sudden appears at the bar. "Hand me a whisky," he says to Holmes. Instantaneously, the whiskey bottle was in my hand, and I poured us two stiff drinks.

"Okay, I' ll make you a pina colada." As Holmes commences whipping up the pina colada Genevieve Gorder from HGTV's "Dear Genevieve" TV show walks out of the bathroom with a paint roller in one hand, a roll of blue painter's tape in the other and a cigarette hanging out of her mouth. "Genuinely, you are going to leave this space painted tan?" Genevieve commences peeling back the blue tape and putting it haphazardly on the walls. We finished the first wall in short time and got on to the others, now painting them bright yellow. When our painting was over, we went back to the bar for a second drink. He raised his glass and announced, "A toast to the express painters in the world."

All of a sudden, I am quite aware that I am in the presence of an incredible interior designer, and that my home is not prepared for his critical eye. The absence of Ralph Lauren paint or designer shades was the least of my concerns. Holmes can see all through the walls. Again, we were back in my home bar. He stopped before the bar mirror and stated, "This is incredible." He appreciated the custom etched mirror. David Bromstad concurs.
