Whether you are having a party of your own, or wish to send your small ones to school or a friend's house with them, these goodies are certain to be a big hit.
Making these Halloween treats can be as simple or as complicated as you like. For the standard design, all that you need is a bowl, some wax paper, your favorite pretzel rods, chocolate for liquefying, and fun seasonal spatters like leaves, spooks, and bats. These ingredients can all be found at your local grocery, or you could visit your local workman chocolatier for some really decadent dark chocolate.
First, melt your chocolate. There isn't a need to get fancy here ; simply put your chocolate of choice in a microwave-safe bowl and heat in the microwave for thirty seconds. Remove the bowl and stir the chocolate. Repeat these two steps till the chocolate is smooth and creamy. Dip your pretzels in the chocolate. For cleaner eating, leave one end of the pretzel rod revealed by the chocolate. Before the chocolate firms up, throw on your favourite seasonal splatters. Place the sticks on wax paper for drying.
To add some extra flare to your candle sticks, perhaps you might even purchase some standard Halloween candy and incorporate them into your design. Chopped up Candy Corn is a savoury addition to an already delectable snack. Use little tubes of cake-decorating icing to form characters on your chocolate-covered pretzel sticks. You could even try experimenting with using differing types of chocolate to make different characters. White chocolate could be utilized for a spook, or dark chocolate for a black pussy-cat. The possibilities are limitless!
