Eminem Presents: The Re-Up

What began life as an informal street mix-tape project to help launch fledgling Shady Records artists (Stat Quo, Ca$his, Bobby Creekwater, Obie Trice, and producer The Alchemist) has now become an official release. I Say...Corn Hole Is More Than Corn Toss

  • Cornhole is Really Fun
  • Cornhole is Becoming Very Popular
  • There Are Professional Cornhole Leagues

Nobody knows exactly where cornhole came from. It may seem like a familiar game to you. The premise of the game is fairly simple, but it's recent surge in popularity has engendered a seriousness to the game that I would have not thought possible.
The game is typically played in teams, but can be played by just a pair of players if necessary. In team play the players one player from each team stands on each side. The bags, filled with corn, are thrown in alternating succession towards the cornhole boards on the opposite side of the field. Regulation Cornhole Boards
Bags that land on the board, but do not go into the hole are calculated as one point and bags that go into the hole are counted as three points. The difference between the points of each teammate is calculated against the opponent during each round of throws. If for example, team member of team A gets 5 pints and team member of team B gets 6 points during a round, Team B is awarded with 1 point. The first team to 21 points wins.
The game was first made popular as a tailgate game. This is probably because it so simple, portable and easy to play while drunk. It's popularity has been growing however and recently professional leagues have been forming in certain areas. There are tournaments held in many places on a weekly and monthly basis.
You should not confuse cornhole with simple beanbag toss however. There are many significant differences and those who are fans of the game know that the official regulation cornhole boards are necessary if you are going to be taken seriously. Everything from the size of the board to the type of paint and wood are factors that effect gameplay. If you are looking for regulation cornhole bags and boards, I suggest checking out Custom Corn Toss

 A Foxfire Christmas

A Foxfire Christmas

$18.95

This captivating book of recollections celebrates the holiday traditions of Appalachian families as passed from one generation to the next. Based on Foxfire students' interviews with neighbors and family members, the memories shared here are from a simpler time, when gifts were fewer but perhaps more precious, and holiday tables were laden with traditional favorites. More than just reminiscences, however, A Foxfire Christmas includes instructions for recreating many of the ornaments, toys, and recipes that make up so many family traditions, from Chicken and Dumplings to Black Walnut Cake, and from candy pulls to corn husk dolls and hand-whittled toy cars. The students who created this book attended Rabun County High School, where the innovative Foxfire program originated, in the mountains of northeast Georgia. They conducted the interviews, shot and developed most of the photographs and edited the final manuscript.
